We love to sing and have fun, but as a competitive chorus, Amersham A Cappella has topped the score sheets to earn the gold medal and title of reigning UK champions at our most recent national competition.
Competing with our very talented fellow choruses and quartets is one of the great drivers that push us onwards and upwards to perform better and better. Not only that, but because we’re great friends with so many of the other competing choruses, we also enjoy wonderful social time with like-minded people, both at competitions and at the post-competition afterglow parties!
The singing experience is truly amazing – we work hard and we play hard but there’s so much more to it than that. Everything we achieve is the result of the dedication, passion, love and talent of every single person in the chorus, not least the superhuman Helen who works day and night to help us fulfil our ambitions, both individually and as a chorus. I couldn’t imagine life without my chorus, it’s a genuine addiction!
Amersham A Cappella are members of the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) and we attend the annual LABBS convention held each year. The convention is one of the most important dates on our calendar as we enter both national competitions for quartets and choruses.
